what is considered crash dieting?

being relatively new to weight loss / training, does anyone have any tips on this, i thought i was doing the right thing keeping a constant 1,500 calories per day, i've lost quite a bit of weight, but want to avoid any other health issues if i can. is that too low? should i mix it up?

What are your stats? 1500 is the bare minimum for a male.0

Ideally to lose in a safe manner you don't want to be losing more than 1% of your bodyweight per week.
MFP will give you a calorie allowance based on the information you put into it but won't go below 1500 calories for a male as this is the minimum recommended amount to get adequate nutrition.

Crash dieting is just a general term used when people severely restrict calorie amounts or types of food in a effort to quickly lose weight. It is also typically considered temporary (i.e. plan to lose the weight then go back to their old way of eating) which ends up just resulting in loss, regain, then having to lose again.

you calorie goal is dependent on lots of different factors, including your current weight, goal weight, age, sex, and activity level.
Since you already have a related discussion starting in your other thread I would suggest just keeping everything in one thread or the other and minimizing confusion and contradictory advice based on different information provided.

Your NEAT put's you around 2500 at Sedentary, that's your normal daily burn without exercise, if you've lost 2 stone per your other post, then you have been under-eating. At your start weight you'd be expecting to healthily lose around 2lbs per week at most to ensure you're getting adequate nutrition, where as in reality you've been losing 3+lbs per week.
Presumably you would like to maintain any muscle you have whilst you're losing weight and losing weight too fast doesn't really allow for this, it also puts your health at risk.
Maybe set yourself to 1.5lb loss per week and make sure you're eating back any exercise calories earned.
