Hello all. I'm starting my weight loss journey again (for the millionth time) and I'm as big as I've ever been. I have 60 pounds to lose, and I want to lose the weight (to be healthy, of course) but also because I want to have another child. And I don't want to try to conceive while I'm so unhealthy. I guess I just want to hear that I can do it. How do you all stay focused and motivated?

I thought following this MFP program was a neat personal challenge. I enjoyed seeing the numbers on the scale slowly go down, and entering the exercise info, too. I tried to improve every day. I decided it was a game I could win.

    Baby steps.

Make small changes that are sustainable. Be totally honest with yourself when logging. If you fall off the wagon don't beat yourself up but just start over right away.

Calorie count for weight loss. Excercise for fitness.

    Never give up.

I lost 32 pounds on here now going for the next 32.

Slow and steady wins this particular race.

    You can do this.

    Agree, baby steps.

Try to look at weight loss as a set of things to do. The most important thing is your food diary. Write down everything you eat and drink that has calories. If you eat too much, write it down anyway. Everyone is happy to write down their good days, track every day.

And you can't always be focused, you can't always be motivated. Some days you will lose concentration. Some days you will be sick of the whole thing. Do it anyway. If you make mistakes, just keep tracking. The only way to fail is quit.
