I went to bed not long ago and was in decent shape. I woke up this morning and BAM, I’m fat and not talking about “phat”, I’m so disappointed in myself. My scale is a sneaky little rascal. One minute I’m waterskiing and surfing without a care in the world and the next thing you know, I’m wheezing and huffing just trying to get up a a few flights of stairs. Aggghhhhh!
How did I get to this point?
Actually, that’s an idiotic question....I know exactly how I arrived at this particular state. Tons of pizza, too many stops at the dessert table, TV over exercising, watching rather than being an active participant in my own life. AND, don’t even get me started on the binge eating and serial dieting or should I say, serial diet starting! I’m sure there are a few hidden psychological nuggets leading to my binge eating or as I call them, my feeding frenzies but I can’t even begin to unravel that little mystery.
Anywho....here I am and I am determined to take back a little control and I absolutely love all the support and encouragement here. I need to loose about 45ish.
I’m looking for a few folks who, like me, need a little nudge in the right direction and a touch of support for those times that Milton Hershey’s call is just too strong. Chocolate, or as I call it “My dark master” has always been my weakness. Hoping to hear from y’all.
Cheers!

Binge eating is something many people struggle with. It is worth the effort to figure out what triggers you and see if you can figure out a way to redirect yourself in those moments. I struggled (and still do some days) with emotional eating when I was upset, but pinpointing that has helped me so much.
Chocolate also tends to be my weakness. For people who have a food they find irresistible sometimes finding a way to incorporate small amounts each day help them not feel deprived so they stay on track better. I find pre-logging for the day really helps me make room for my favorite things. They taste even better when they are guilt free!
Good luck on your journey~0 -

Even though your style is genuinely funny - I'm laughing out loud - demonizing foods you love might be the mysterious part of the problem. Calling things we want to avoid, but really like, bad, does not make them less desirable, it makes them irrestisible. It's easy to buy into "addiction" and thinking that you have no control over your actions. You may be unable to control your thoughts and emotions, your urges and wants and desires, but you CAN control your actions. When it comes to weight management, those actions are actually "inactions" - you just have to stop eating too much all the time. If you can frame that into something positive (I like to say I eat anything I want, but not everything at once, and not all the time), you will succeed. You have the additional benefit of enjoying sport (I hate it), so use it! Get out there and hit the waves0
