Change the Mindset

When it comes to weight loss, there are a lot of people out there that would think that they cant do it , or its too hard, or they just go at it half assed. Or even if they have been successful in the past, they will hit a hurdle and start complaining about plateus etc etc then go back to being lazy (all comments are general, not at anyone here). ive also noticed that a lot of foods are demonized here. cant eat this, cant eat that.
it all comes down to the mind set. Work out why you want to lose the weight, and make it be something beter than "to be healthier". sure, being healthier is great, but if we thought that we never would have gotten here to begin with. if you want to eat something, eat it, get in the mind set that if we want something outside our range, we can earn it. either by doing more excercise or saving up over the week.
plateaus are good, they mean you arent gaining any more. small gains are good, short term gains are easy to work off, which means sure this trip to the scale sucked but the next one could be better.
mind set was best described on a martial arts forum i am on. one of the members held a self defence workshop for women and had this to say
"One woman was participating in a very half-hearted fashion. I asked her why, and she said (honest!) I don't think I could hurt anyone. I suggested that might change if she were being threatened with rape, and she shrugged and said I doubt it.
Sooooooo...... I said what if the attacker said he was going to rape your child?
10 seconds later my shins were bleeding, my instep was in agony and had I not moved, I'd have needed a knee recon."
get in the right mind set, the rest is easy
*disclaimer, getting the right mind set is the hard part. I can right all this down, but im not even there yet myself.
