Help with low fat foods.

Thanks to a gallstone, I am now on a low fat diet. The only problem for me, is that I just moved, don't have a fridge, so I'm stuck eating out. All there is in this town is fast food or reasturants that are high in fat. And I can't eat just salads. Suggestions?

If you're eating fast food, you should be able to pull up websites and check nutritional information. Off the top of my head, two places where it should be relatively easy to build a lower fat fast food meal are Subway and Taco Bell. I'm sure there are others.

Is there a Middle-Eastern restaurant? Even a felafel place may have shakshuka on the menu. (It's poached eggs in a chunky tomato sauce. There's not a lot of oil in it.) Otherwise, see if there are any menu options that are boiled, broiled, braised, steamed, or grilled.

then you need carbs or protein. try some pasta with meat.
FYI i removed my gall bladder and i do a high fat diet, it is just a matter of getting used to fat little by little.

Oh, and some Chinese places offer lower fat options. They will hold the oil and steam the vegetables.

Pasta and sauce is an option. You don't need a fridge for the sauces, and most veggies will last a couple of days on the counter, especially root veggies like carrots, onions and potatoes (Note that I'm not suggesting you put the potatoes in the pasta). You can make your own sauce from crushed tomatoes and spices.

How close is your grocery store? You can pick up the lean meats you want to eat that day, and cook a side to go with it, like steamed broccoli or cauliflower. Soy sauce adds flavor if you can't have fat but are ok with sodium.
