Does any one know how many calories each of the p90x workouts burn?
Also, What are the three most effective workouts, if you had to pick?

It varies, and the focus is different.
I mean, they say they average between 300-600 calories per DVD...I put 350 for the entire hour plus the Ab Ripper.
Plyo obviously burns much more....Cardio X is a garbage Cardio workout, I don't break a sweat until there is like 10 minutes left.
As far as effectiveness, it's all effective, just follow the program.
But you need to get an HRM if you want some sort of accurate measure, just don't expect big numbers except from Plyometrics or from Kempo X0 -
I'm not sure how many calories each of them burn, but if I had to guess, I would say 550-650 (if not more)! My 3 favorite are Kenpo, Yoga, and Ab Ripper.0

how do you add or calculate P90X workouts (Kempo, Plyo, Ab Ripper) into your exercise database?0

I would say 550-650 (if not more)! My 3 favorite are Kenpo, Yoga, and Ab Ripper. I hope this helps!
That will be on the VERY high end! I bet for most people it's below 450.
@joerock56: I just add everything under cardiovascular.0 -
If you get a HRM you may get a better idea since it truly varies per person.
Congrats on your new journey!0 -

I was always above 600 calories. Even now that I'm way under 200 lbs I still burn close to 600 per workout.0 -

Congrats on your new journey!
This is the best way to calculate your burn. OR a body bug.0 -

That's odd....I wouldn't think you would burn that much if you are under 200 lbs. When you lift weights you generally burn about 250 per hour....this is really just weight lifting with a warm up /cool down built in.0 -
My calorie burns range from 280 for shoulders & arms to 560 for plyo.
About effectiveness, they each target a different aspect of fitness, so there's not really any way to compare them, but I agree with a previous poster that cardio x is not a good workout. I use cardio party from Turbo Jam as my second workout instead.
I think I personally have benefitted most from plyo, but that's b/c I was turning into kind of an inanimate object, and plyo has really forced me to extend my capabilities. I hope to be able to say the same about yoga x in a few more weeks. Right now, all I have to say about it is ow.0 -
Btw, I add some extra calorie burn by jogging or doing kicks while I wait for Tony and the gang to finish if I finish before they do during weight sets. On chest and back, I pause the dvd to do pull-ups and then restart it and do some kind of cardio while they do their pull-ups. That gives me an extra 50-60 calories and doesn't take that much more time.0

After doing the strength workout for a few weeks and getting it down...I actually skip ahead when he is doing all that "talking...make sure you write it down stuff" you can trim some time off...but jogging is a great idea too to keep the heart rate up and burn some extra "goo" during the slower workouts!0
