Kind of a dumb question but will ask it anyway

Can you weight rice after it's cooked by using the dry calories of the same weight? For example say a serving of rice is 50g dry, can you weigh out 50g cooked? Would it make that big a difference since the calories are actually lower per gram if that makes any sense?
Trying to find a simpler way to measure rice.

Your calorie count would be WAY off because rice absorbs so much water in cooking. And you'd get very little rice to eat
There are database entries for cooked rice. The actual calories will vary some based on how much water is absorbed, but it's a closer approximation than using the dry weight entry for cooked. That's what I do, since we're always cooking rice for the family and I don't feel like cooking mine separately from theirs just to be a little more accurate.

There are USDA entries for cooked rice, not perfect, but probably closer than using a cooked weight with a raw calorie count.0

If it's any help, white rice cooks up around 3 times its size when dry.0

I never log uncooked rice, as i always make too much, or not enough! I use this entry and weigh it cooked.

Weigh your rice dry. Cook it the way you usually do. Add in any added calories like oil or butter added to the water. Weigh your cooked rice. Now use this as your weight & calories going forward. Adjust for serving size etc per your preferences.0

Do that each time I make rice or use this as the weight from now on?0 -

Just use it as the weight from now on. Obviously it's going to be a little out due to slightly different cooking times, absorption rates, etc, but close enough1 -
