I started the C25K on Monday. I have been fine all week. This morning when I woke up, the upper part of my ankle was burning. It burns all the time - doesn't matter if I'm sitting or walking or running, etc. This makes me sad - anyone have any advice?

Hmmm.... I don't have a clue why that's happening Try taking some ibuprofen or naproxen sodium, it might just be inflamed. If it persists while you're working on your C25K, I would suggest having a doctor take a look at it for you. Hope you start to feel better!0

I was having the same problem a few weeks ago. I attributed it to weak ankles but found that a new pair of running shoes help immensely. I think the padding in my old pair was a little too worn out.0

Sorry if I sound dumb but whats a C25K?? and would probably try a support bandage while on your feet might help, Iburofen are good for inflamation, I have Burscitus and use them when it gets bad0

C25K is a program that stands for "Couch to 5K". Gets you to running capacity within a 9 week time frame.
The weird thing is that there is no pain when I touch anywhere around the ankle. There is no swelling. It just burns. I did take some ibuprofen - so far no relief.0 -
Ahh right I do a fair bit of running always getting injuries as I always want to run that bit further, like the idea of a tracker but I usually aim for 5K in one run lol
Would maybe try some ice? you can also get a freeze spray that may be good for getting rid of the burning feeling as could well be just inflamation, would also rest it and just see how it is over thenext few days0 -
Sounds like 'shin splints' (thats what we call it in the UK) I have the exact same thing - the only way I can run is on a treadmill the minute I attempt to run outside the pain starts and lasts for days
I have been told that having the right trainers for you can ease the problem but have not gone down the path yet
soz not the normal positve post I like to send please forgive me!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
are you stretching enough before and after the runs? I'd suggest a really good soleus stretch, as well as some IT band stretches. Also pay attention to your tread when you are running and try to correct your form - it'll help in the long run.0

Thats where I do my running due to Burcitus, saw a specialist and said im fine running but the pain will stop me, you kind of adapt to the pain when been there a long time, I just use he freeze patches to help0
