Hey guys! I never realized how many carbs I was in taking before using this app and realize why I probably struggle to lose/maintain weight! I have heard a lot of great things about Keto and low carb diets! Add me up!

I've been doing keto since April and have lost 53 pounds and feel better than ever!! Check out this website to get more details on the science of why it works and why eating low carb high fat is actually good for you. I struggled in the beginning with craving carbs but I really don't anymore. There are so many amazing recipes online that I am making something new and tasty every night. My husband has been very pleased with the variety and looks forward to seeing what I've created each night when he gets home.

One of my favorite recipes for a "pasta" replacement is this cauliflower version of "mac and cheese. https://www.ruled.me/cauliflower-mac-cheese/
I am not a fan of the mashed cauliflower for a mashed potatoes replacement, but this was super yummy. Once I completed the recipe instructions, I put it in a small casserole dish and added a little more shredded cheddar on top and then topped it with crumbled bacon and baked it in the oven to make it more of a casserole. My husband LOVED it!
Also, definitely get a spiralizer, if you don't have one. I had the little portable handheld type and my hand/wrist would get cramps so I bought the Cuisinart Vegetable Spiralizer and love it. We eat spiraled zucchini noodles "zoodles" anytime we have a dish that normally includes spaghetti. I prefer the low heat oven method rather than sauteeing them because they don't get mushy, more like an al dente pasta feel. Just lay the spirals out on papertowels and blot them dry with more papertowels. Then line a cookie sheet with paper towels, place the zoodles on the papertowels and place the cookie sheet in a preheated 250 degree oven for about 20 minutes...and, no, the papertowels won't burn.

I've tried making the breads with almond flour, coconut flour, cloud bread (eggs), etc...and I was not a fan. I will say that I love the "fat-head pizza" pizza dough and have heard you can make bread sticks with that and brush with garlic butter so that is next on my list. https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/fat-head-pizza
Make sure to utilize the recipe importer/builder to input your ingredients when you make any recipe at all so you can calculate the nutritional information/macros per serving. Remember to measure and weigh all ingredients while preparing them and when you are finished cooking your dish, measure out the total amount and determine a serving size/total serving number. For instance, if you're making a pot of soup that measures out to a total of 10 cups and you want your serving size to be one cup, then your total servings is 10. Once you've entered all of your ingredients and their weights and the total number of servings it made, MFP will automatically calculate all nutritional information.

Please add me. Doing Keto because it is the only diet where I feel really good while doing it. My son is doing it with me, big help. My wife and daughter are serious carbovors which means temptations are always around.
Also a big fan of intermittent fasting. Just finished a 3 day fast (only water, coffee, tea, green vitamin drink - <40 calories, supplements). Do this every few weeks, feels great once you get past the 36 hour mark. Thinking about trying to go longer in the future.3 -

I am fascinated by this and everyone’s weight loss progress on Keto. I’m going to start after the holidays along with restarting an exercise program (30 Day Shred and using my Running for Weight Loss app). I was vegetarian for 11 months. But after losing only 8 lb in that amount of time, it’s made me realize that carbohydrates and sugar are my primary issues.1
