Finally able to workout again!

Hello MFP!
So I'm finally able to workout again, and I'm stoked - just over a year ago, I ended up with a bad "pilon fracture" on my tib/fib from a dirt bike incident where another rider hit me. Over the course of the year there have been four surgeries, IV antibiotics, regular antibiotics, an external fixator, 2 plates, and 18 screws installed and since removed, plus everything else that goes into dealing with a pilon.
Finally things seem to be healing up, and I've been able to get back to the gym to work on regaining the muscle I've lost, continue rehab of my leg, and regain the lost fitness. Feels great, but as expected, my body is in rebellion and working to find that balance between proper intake to regain the losses, but still need to lose the extra fat I put on too!
Mostly joined to have some additional forums to talk and read about fitness and diet with other like minded people. It's important to me, but not too many people in my life who worry about it, so finding that community online!

Welcome. Congrats on healing yourself this past year. I bet it feels good to be back in the gym. Good luck with everything.0
