Self confidence

Hi everyone, I'm currently trying to get back into exercising daily after I was in a really bad funk that made me gain 30 pounds. I want to go out and jog or run but I feel like everyone looks at me and makes fun of me for trying to be healthy since I'm big. I'm currently at 258, my highest was 280 and my first goal is 200.

People are strange and some are rude. But most people don't care as much about other as we like to think, or fear. Being active when you're heavy, is difficult. Doing it anyway will build your confidence.4

I used to feel really self conscious when I was out running at first - especially as it was just after New Year so everyone must have been thinking "there's another New Year's resolution that she's not going to keep up." But do you know the only comments I've ever got while running? First there's the old man I've passed a couple of times who always claps and says "well done, keep it up!". And then there was the little boy who turned to his mum and said "Mummy, can I run like that lady?".
So while you think that people are laughing at you or judging you, maybe they're actually impressed and inspired. And if not, then they will be when you're still running past them months later having stuck with your routine and lost weight. Get out there and go for it! Best of luck with your journey5 -
Start with walking. Stroll at first. Just get in the habit of getting out and putting in the time.2

In a similar situation with regards to the funk 30 lb weight gain. Also, tend to think the worst about comments at times.
First off, Don't Let the *kitten* Get You Down!
I would try listening to some music, and just think about You. You being the best you, you can be.2
