Tracking Home made dinners

Hi everyone,
I am at a lost on how to track homecooked meals. I am great tracking during the day with meals that are easily traced, but if I am making dinner for me and my fiance I usually give up on tracking because I don't know where to start. Any help would be wonderful!!!
For instance meatballs and spaghetti, how do I track that?? Or macaroni and baked chicken!

I just post each ingredient separately. Also, if you use the same meals frequently, you can set them up under recipes, and it will divide all the ingredients up per plate only problem is you have to guess how many servings it will make. I tend to use this if I make a big batch that I will eat for several days.0

I enter each ingedient into MFP, and then save it as a meal. Then I figure out how many portions are in the whole lot and take a percentage of the 'meal' based on portion size. The first time you have to measure everything out, but after that you have everything saved.0

for things like that, I create a recipe for whatever it is i'm eating and track how any servings it makes. then, when i log it, i choose that item and enter only the servings I ATE. I had the same issues when logging meatballs and spaghetti, but this seems to work and be far more accurate than me guessing!!0

you could make up the meal once as a single serving so you know how many calories are in each meal that you normally eat. then for the future portion it out for yourself. I'm not really sure because while I'm trying to lose weight I am not eating a lot of the normal meals as the rest of the family for this reason. Sometimes it's hard to calculate or have the time to figure out the portions on each item within the meal. If I do cook a meal for the whole family it's usually pretty simple so I can figure out the calories. good luck0

Ditto to previous posters - helps to weigh the food too. So for me. I have 3 oz of meatballs and 3/4 cup of spaghetti. If you make your sauce using only veggies with no sugar I typically wouldnt count that. Make it a few times and you will be able to 'eyeball' the portions.
Thats my general approach with everything.0
