Animal transfer I would think the more likely cause. *kitten* happens sometimes (pardon the pun), I think the alarming thing here is how long diagnosis took and treatment is taking.
I’m glad I noticed the worm in my stool at all, otherwise god only knows how much longer the diagnosis would have taken / I still eat raw meats too, I love it too much and the way I see it, I already HAVE parasites soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Check out diatomaceous earth that should help with most worm cases I know I have heard enough people talking about it when their kids get them from putting things in their mouths. Plus it has a few other benefits for over all health
?? I looked up diatomaceous earth on Wikipedia and here's what I found:
Diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled protist (chrysophytes). It is used as a filtration aid, mild abrasive in products including metal polishes and toothpaste, mechanical insecticide, absorbent for liquids, matting agent for coatings, reinforcing filler in plastics and rubber, anti-block in plastic films, porous support for chemical catalysts, cat litter, activator in blood clotting studies, a stabilizing component of dynamite, and a thermal insulator.0 -

We use DE for our chickens, it keeps the parasites at bay and the poo off the eggs. I have never heard of it being used for human consumption, but

As a side note it is also useful for home insect control, dehydrates them. In addition to other users, very versatile.
I wish I had helpful advice for your OP, I hope that if has not resolved yet that it might resolved soon. Good luck and Happy New Year.1 -
That DE article! Woo flags all over it!
Food can’t “detox”.4 -
Diatamaceous earth is NOT safe for human consumption. You need to see a doctor. Unless it says food grade. I can just picture some poor soul buying DE at homedepot or Lowes and getting extremely sick.4

Please be aware there are 2 types of DE food grade is safe for humans and pets in small amounts taken by mouth . the industrial stuff is used for pool filters and should be handled with caution0
