Path of destruction

For the past week probably Ive been on this path of destruction for reason's unknown. Well Im thinking it started after I signed up for a lose 10lb in July challange and I didnt lose even 5lbs, which in reality I didnt think I would lose 10lb so I said to myself I will probably lose more inches than lb's so I measured and at the end of the challange I measured again and was disappointed once again <2". Not results I was aiming for. I am really bummed, depressed and so close to just saying forget it I will be stuck with these last stupid 15-20lbs. As far as diet goes it's a real struggle for me, I acknowledge that I am a picky eater and that I eat processed foods, the only lettice I eat is shredded IB, I suck at nutrition (good carb vs bad carb I have no clue couldnt tell ya). Saturday is my NO LOG day or cheat day. In the exercise dept. I love JM so M-F Im sweating to one of her DVDs, I enjoy running on the TM and recently just bought Zumba Wii which now Im not even excited about starting :( I am the type of person who has to have a schedule but the schedules apparently Ive been doing suck or just a joke. In thinking as I am purging I do OK at work I bring my meal's and snack's and I dont have crap in my office but when I get home it seems like Im at the fridge or pantry saying "WTH am I going to eat, Im tired of chicken and frozen meal's" and tend to fall into temptation's and my hubby and daughter are more of food snobs than I am and have to fix their dinner seperate, which really suck's.

IDK maybe Ive convinced myself that Im on the right path when in reality I havent been or maybe this is a re-start realizing I am in this downward spiral and still able to reach up for support and motivation.

I am disappointed in myself for multiple reason's, embarrassed for allowing myself to soak in this "poor pitiful me" pool and not to mention depressed and If anybody find's my self esteem and confidence let me know I really miss them and would like them back in my life.

When I has a once a week cheat day I found I was undoing all my hard work from the other 6 days. I now log everything every day even when I know I am well over my calories, as it is helping me to be accountable and know exactly how much I am over by. Yes of course you can treat yourself once a week or however often you like but be aware of what you're doing and how it could be jeopardising your weight loss.

I have been on the same path this week :( I just told myself I am going to keep busy and get my motivation back. I am working on my last 20 also. Its not as easy once you get to a certain point. Don't give up though make the changes you need to make and get back on track. Find new foods that you enjoy :) Also, I have Zumba for the X-box. Start with the 20 min one its actually fun.

If you are not staying within your calorie, fat, fiber, sodium ect make those changes. Instead of eating boxed foods all the time prepare meals. I do eat lean cuisines.. but only as something instead of grabbing fast food. I try to prepare foods that my daughter and bf will like too. So, I am not watching them eat pizza while I am trying to be healthy. Try to do at least 5 cardios per week and I believe its 2-3 strength. Start small and work your way up. I am not sure what you eat or do for workouts so its hard to help!

I have gone through motivation dips every couple of months, what has worked the best for me is to set my goals to maintenance levels and enjoy myself for a full week. I know that any weight I "gain" during that week is simply caused by increasing the volume of food and that it is not real weight and will drop off again in 3 or 4 days after I get back on schedule.

I find that during that week "off" that my energy levels increase significantly, I am not spending nearly as much time fretting about things like whether I can afford that extra snack in the afternoon and still stay under my goals. It also reminds me that once I do hit my final goal, exactly how much food I will be able to eat without starting to gain it back and that feels really good. I usually find that even after 4 or 5 days I feel so good that i end up "accidentally" ending up with a 500cal deficit, then again the next day and I know that I am ready for another push so I reset my goals for losing and start another cycle.

As I get closer and closer to my goal, I find that these cycles are getting shorter and shorter though, but it works for me. I hope that you can find something that works for you.

You also have to look as how much you did lose in July, if you lost 5lbs that means you lost a full 4% of your body weight (from your current 124bs). It has taken me from February to now to lose 20% of my body weight. 4% in a month is fantastic! You have to make sure that you judge your results next to others in a similar weight/height/fitness group. Someone who is 300+ lbs can "easily" lose 5 lbs in a month (1.6% of body weight).

Have you considered measuring your success based on Body fat measurements?

Also, my cat looks almost identical to yours but he has about an inch of white on the toes of his rear paws.

Keep it up, you will reach your goal!

I had my food diary open and made it private d/t blasting i received for not being 100% clean eater. I do cook sometime's we recently had an EF5 tornado hit our town and damaged our home so we went from a 4BR 3bath, spacious kitchen house to a single wide 2BR 2bath microscopic kitchen with a hot eye and toaster oven trailor (wasnt suppose to take this long but thanks ALSTATE for your good hands and speedy claim's service) so i know thats some of why I havent been cooking as I use to in the past. Now for my hubby any advice with him would be great this is his "salad" ham, cheese, bacon, croutons, pickle spheres, cheese all smoothered in ranch dressing....yeah just a bowl of condiment's. I have just about all of JM's DVD's so that's what I do M-F. But we just found a HOUSE and will hopefully be in it by next weekend so Im sure that will help too.

never thought about doing that, might give it a try seriously what harm could it do at this point?! Its really tough because im 58.5" tall and have a small fram so even a half pound shows up like 5lbs and I tend to carry my weight in my abd, thighs and face.

My profile pic is Sinatra...12yr old siemese, declawed. I work as a nurse and was on lockdown in the hospital during hurricane Ivan so I sent him to Texas to be "safe", he got out through a hole in screened porch, drove to Tx after released from lock drove to Tx searched for 3 day's and hours before I had to leave found him. And 1 1/2yr ago someone purposely let him out of my house and he was missing for over 3 month's (remember he's declawed during all of this) a relative found him severely emaciated(he was weighing over 25lbs prior to being let out and when found was 8-9lbs), couldnt walk more than 3 step's, no balance, expereinced several seizure's and several bag's of fluid from the vet, I was heart broken when the vet said "it's time there is nothing else we can do you need to put him down"....I scooped him up took him home and now he is seizure free and weighing in between 18-22lbs :) Me and Natra(as my daughter call's him) were destined to be together. Oh and I forgot he was in our house when the EF5 tornado hit and was waiting on me when I was finally able to get to my house several hours later rattled but unharmed :) I just love him
