Hi, Ive just started with the myfitnesspal app and would really like to change my lifestyle. I am still a bit confused as to the coloric deficit that the app has worked out for me, am I supposed to eat that exact or as close to as the given amount of calories or should I try and stay well under it.

You need to eat at least the calorie allowance provided. If you exercise to a high intensity or do a lot of exercise you will need to eat extra calories. Do not eat under the allowance give assuming you have set your profile to weight loss, occasional eating less than the allowance given won't do any harm.0

Thanks for the advice, I have started of on a high intensity cardio workout and will later on move on to weight training aswell so I assume once I add my exercise calories burned my daily calories will adjust itself.0

As you have said daily allowance will adjust when exercise is added to the tracker. The exercise calories given may not be accurate, so some people eat back about half of their exercise calories and adjust as necessary according to weight loss. If losing too much weight per week eat back more exercise calories.0

Yep your calorie goal is exactly that - a goal to hit. The deficit you need to lose the lbs per week you selected is built into that number already. As a wise person on these boards used to say - the winner is the person who loses the weight while eating the most food

Welcome and good luck!0
