Hi,
I’m currently 6ft, 17 stone 11. I’m looking to drop some fat but also bulk up and gain some muscle to but not to sure how to go about it.
Before I started my diet was terrible now I’ve been trying to eat clean and not eat so much rubbish.
I’ve been eaten a lot of protein and less fats
I’m just looking for a little bit of a push in the right direction.
Not sure how many calories I should be consuming to reach my goals and weather or not I should be eating a lot of protein or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Set your goal to lose 1-1.5 pounds per week. Eat that much plus at least a portion of your exercise calories. Start on a progressive lifting program...you won't gain much muscle, if any while you lose, but it will help you retain as much muscle as possible. Macros are generally a personal preference, but you should make sure you aren't cutting fat too low as it is essential to the body.

You can start with whatever targets MFP gave you at setup. Some people prefer to increase fat and protein a bit, but many more increase protein way too much and reduces fat, and maybe carbs too, unnecessarily. 0.8 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass is usually recommended in here.

To build muscles, you have to use them. Move your body more.

You can eat whatever you like - it's actually important that you do that, because you have to eat less to lose weight, so you have to be selective. Healthy eating is getting in everything you need, but not too much of anything, and a relaxed and trusting attitude to go with it. Clean eating is the opposite, not only can it mean anything, so it means nothing; it's a concept that takes away and denies, instead of adding and liberating. Randomly cutting out and demonizing your favorite foods sounds like the obvious thing to do, but it has the opposite of the desired effect - rebound overeating when you can't stand the restrictions anymore, eat anyway, and feel like you've failed.
