Hi I’m Amy from Yorkshire in England, I work full time sat at a desk all day and come home to a 2 year old little boy a, 1 year old little girl and my wonderful partner Joe ❤️ As you can imagine, I’m always busy! It means I can often cheat and buy takeaways and tend to eat quick, easy and unhealthy meals which have lead to me piling on the pounds! I’ve been putting off getting on the scales for quite sometime, until today when I thought I’d better bite the bullet and was horrified!!

welcome. Don't beat yourself up too much....everyone had to start somewhere. Sitting down with a plan for dinners/meals might work well for you, I know with me and my kids (4 and just 2) if I don't plan ahead I do whatever is cheap and easy because those little monsters have me DRAINED by about 4pm. When my kids were that age my routine was to make a shake (I love them lol) and I would blend it up right before I put them to bed, and then put it in the fridge. When they were down I did a 30min workout video and drank the shake when I was done. it was a bribe. I would also pace around when I just had TV time to get extra steps in.

We have all been there. My journey started up (again) 6 months ago. I was horrified when I got on that scale, but I took it one day at a time, monitored my cals and got a movin'! Now at my goal weight, just keeping to what I have been doing. You can do it, just take it one day at a time and you will get there. Just don't quit!! And if you stumble a little, that's ok. Just get back up and keep going!

Psychological discomfort aside, scales can be a big asset here. If you don't have one already, let me be the first person to recommend you get a good digital food scale, which is a huge help for accurate logging of meals at home (and at work if you have a secondary scale like me, the token weirdo in the office, at work).

If you weigh yourself frequently, you might want to use an app (I use Libra) that displays a trend line so you don't get discouraged by dips and jumps day-to-day. My weight swings around by upwards of 5 lbs on account of all the usual culprits (water retention, waste matter, etc).

I'm there now too, we can fix ourselves but its going to take hard work, dedication and commitment.

I understand I feel the same way. Don't beat yourself up. We can pull together and be there for support and motivation. I am a very busy mother of 2 as well. I have a 15 year old boy and 7 year old boy. I work full time and full time college student. I understand how it is easy to just eat on the go and so unhealthy. Add me I need motivation too!! Good luck and congrats on starting this journey. My name is Nicole BTW..
