    My next door neighbor left this morning with a camper towing 3 Harleys.

    I'm from South Dakota, and the rally generates a lot of income for our state, so I'm a fan. We get a lot of bike traffic through our town (people on the way to and from the rally). I've never been, but have heard stories :wink: It's definitely an experience! I've heard that a lot of celebrities attend, including Jay Leno and Dennis Rodman.

    we are from there too. i grew up in lead/deadwood; hubby grew up in rapid city; we both went to sdsu in brookings for college. we might not live there anymore, but it's in our blood. :)

    what concerts are playing out at buffalo chip this year?

    My boyfriend left last night for it. His grandparents live in Sturgis and our friends live in Rapid so luckily he won't have to camp out. I stayed home because I can't stand large crowds of people. And although we ride, I am not quite the biker b*tch type. They don't take too kindly to granola/hippies like me.

    I lived in Sturgis when I was a kid. I remember some disgusting things. (I would think some of that has changed by now, but who knows.) But all the different motorcycles were really cool.

    The only one I'd be interested in seeing is Toby Keith, but there's a lot of other stuff... Alice Cooper, Stevie Nicks, Styx, Def Lepard, Poison, Buckcherry, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Puddle of Mudd, Jeff Bridges, John Fogerty.

    Some of the guys from our riding club are going, but we can't make it. Maybe next year when (or if, right now) hubby retires.

    I grew up in Rapid but never attended the rally. It was always interesting to see people from church wearing leather and riding their bikes to church before heading to Sturgis. Becky1971, it doesn't sound like things have gotten better. Now there are over 500,000 attending!
