So one of the fad diets/weight loss plans i did in the past was the 6 week body make over. meh. but one of the recipes it has i absolutely love, and thought I would share it here! =) I had lots of extra veggies to this, usually mushrooms, zuchini red and yellow peppers, and some no salt added corn.

5 Alarm Chili

1 pound lean turkey breast
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
14 oz pinto beans, drained
28 oz diced tomatoes (sodium-free)
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Brown ground turkey in non-stick dutch oven or large pot along with onion, garlic and green pepper over medium heat until turkey is fully cooked. Drain off any excess oil.

Add spices and beans. Stir together for 1 minute.

Add tomatoes and bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer on low for 10 - 15 minutes, sitrring occasionally.

Thank you for the recipe and adding it to the database. I'm in Australia and chilli isn't that popular over here. Since going to the USA, I've fallen in love with it. It is similar to one I make. Sometimes its hard to ring recipes from scratch, but this is brilliant. Unfortunately while overseas I also developed a taste for Mexican food, jalapeno Popper's and Buffalo wings...
