How did I become one of those out-of-shape middle aged women

Just found this site and downloaded the iPhone app. Although I've struggled with weight and eating disorders my whole life, this is the first time I've been 40 pounds overweight. I'm not loving it. I eat a plant based diet, supplemented :) with (apparently way too much) junk food. I'm no longer an exercise junkie, but I do yoga twice a week, swim laps once a week, and lift weights once a week. I try to walk most days. I am not a fan of calorie counting, but I do think it will help me become more aware of what I am stuffing into my mouth. I could use some friends to help prod me along!

I'm with you!! I'm turning 44 this week and still have 40-50 more pounds to lose. I never could understand people who actually counted calories -- but I've become addicted!! This site is full of like-minded people all with the goal of becoming healthy -- and full of motivation for each other!! I'll send you a friend request -- feel free to add me!!

Welcome! I joined today. I turn 45 next Thursday and enough is enough. My desire for food has diminished but my desire to over eat what I want is still the same, so I need structure. I used to be apart of WW many years back and journeling was horrible in my youthful mind. But! this site helps me to think more about my health and I can communicate (social) so here I am. Even though I started today and the family goes on vacation Monday. . .I'm daring myself to monitor and post anyway. Whatever you do, have fun!
