Knee injury

The title sounds more dramatic than it actually is.

Last month I was moving furniture around. Towards the end I got tired and used my knee to push quite a stiff bit of furniture to get it into place. I regretted it straight away. It has been on and off in pain since.

At that time I tried to ignore it for a few days. It was the actual bone that was hurting. But as I live in an apartment and work from home, I got to a point where I avoided going out for a few days. Then when I went down the stairs, leaning on that let meant my knee would hurt.

It would be mostly evenings where it would hurt daily so one evening I really felt uncomfortable. Visiting the health centre, they said it probably is just sore and it will be fine. And it did feel okay after.

Maybe I've been doing more walking recently but still not that much but I'm getting that sharp pain in my knee again, at the bone. Also when leaning on that let eg walking down the stairs, kneeling on the floor if in playing with my kids etc.

Are there any exercises I can do to help it? I wanted to start 30 day shred again but I don't want to do something that may agitate my knee. I need to lose weight but I feel stuck.

Lots of benefits from exercise. But it’s overrated as a weight loss strategy. Calculate a calorie deficit and keep a food diary. Weight loss may help your knee.

You tried your Dr? Maybe some physical therapy? They do amazing things in PT.

But as to weight loss, important thing is to not let the injury to your knee take over your head. Look on YouTube for some floor routines. Focus on your intake. You can still move forward.

Sounds like your knee is not getting better. Go back to the doctor and ask for a physical therapy referral. My husband fell on his knee and didn’t go to the doctor for a few months. An MRI revealed he’d torn a ligament, which was why it wasn’t healing very well. He was told to take up swimming to rehab his knee. I tore my Achilles’ tendon and went to physical therapy for about a month. Big help.

Thank you both. I guess I will go to the docs.
I have the weight I gained from two babies to loose. I wouldn't say I overeat on normal food but I've had a lot of unhealthy snacks so cutting that should make a difference in itself.

See a doctor so he or she can take an xray.
Look at youtube floor exercises that strengthen the muscles around the knee.
