Just downloaded this wonderful app, I am having a dilemma. I want to lose some weight, I am 5'6 136lbs and I am actively working out, doing both cardio and little weights and squats for my butt. In this app I want to change my protein intake, which has been set to 60g a day, I want to up the protein intake, but then it automatically ups my calorie intake, can someone explain to me how that works. I want to gain muscle, more like be toned, but also lose a little weight. My calories right now are set at 1200 a day, which is probably nuts and I'm pretty much feeling desperate to lose some of this new found weight and flab I've put on my belly and thighs and hips. I have 3 children and I'm 30 years old. Just trying to figure out if I up my protein I take does my calorie intake have to go up also even if I wanna lose a few pounds?

Change your rate of loss to half a pound a week, which will give you more calories. Then you can change your macro percentages by taking off from carbs and adding to protein in increments of 5% until you get to a number that you feel better with.

Click on Goals and then you can manually change the percentages.

This, you are already a healthy weight, so it's just not going to come off fast if you want to do it in a healthy fashion. Also remember the MFP goal assumes you will log exercise and eat back at least some of those calories.

I agree, I find the MFP protein goal a little low. I changed my breakdown to 45C-30F-25P, just play around with it until you find something that works for you. I found the extra protein helps me feel fuller too.
