Recovery from gastro/stomach flu

How long have you found you need to take off to recover from gastro?
Yesterday I did a 30km training run on a fairly hilly trail (fairly. Lol. Very) and thought I was just feeling sub par from lack of hydration, but turns out I was coming down with the bug my youngest had last weekend and my husband had this weekend (and my oldest just got last night too, which totally sucks as it's her fifth birthday today)
While it was a bit like a reenactment of the exorcist, or the Lardass bit from Stand By Me, now at 5am I seem to be over the worst of it and my exercise addicted brain is wondering if I could possibly just take today as the rest day I was planning anyway and be back to it tomorrow.
I'm sure I'm going to be told to wait and see how I pull up, but I just wondered if anyone has had any experience with this they could relay. My feeling is my number one priority today is electrolytes as I must be running on less than empty after a long challenging run and then losing the fuel I consumed afterwards.

Haha yeah I know. Thank you.
I think I'm holding out hope someone will come along and go 'oh it's fine I bounced right back no big deal'. I'm training for my first ultra and am a teensy bit paranoid about missing workouts..0 -
I’m training for an ultra too. A few days to recover beats an injury every time.1

I had noro-virus. I think I was sick about 3 days but took about a week to fully recover.0

Recently had food poisoning, only puked three times, but I could tell my stomach/body/hydration/electrolytes were still off for 3 days. I recommend going back to it as soon as you feel 100% like someone else mentioned, better to take a couple days then go back to early and cause complications!0
