Hi guys. I recently started my weight loss journey while on winter break. I return to school soon, which means I return to cafeteria food! I'm trying to keep the weight off, as I have gained so much since starting school. Any tips on how to eat healthy in college? I cut sweets and chocolate out of my diet along with any beverage that isn't water. :-)

most school dining halls/cafeterias have healthy options (or at least they did a decade ago when I went to college); really weight loss comes down to eating less than you burn - so reduce portion sizes; watch out for sodium (can cause weight fluctuations)

Choose wisely. Avoid the cookies, cereal and ice cream. It's all you can eat but don't feel like you have to stuff yourself. I manage a college dining hall and we offer healthy choices everyday. Students tend to always get the fried foods no matter what. I eat there and I love it cause I have lots to choose from. Select correctly & make the right food choices. Good Luck.

Same issue! Bringing my lunch this semester. lol I know that's not always an option. If you can't bring your lunch, maybe do like an 80/20? 80% healthy and 20% something you enjoy, just log appropriately! Have a great semester friend!

I always went to the salad bar at school and added enough carbs and protein to make it a proper meal.

maybe ask for skinny chicken breasts if you can. there should be enough healthy options!

and then make sure to work out enough :) if you expand more calories than you consume, you will always lose weight!

Ask for nutritional information! It's more readily available than people realize. Other than that, just choose wisely and make sure to log it, even if you do have to resort to approximating. When in doubt, over estimate calories going in and under estimate calories going out.
