I’m sorry about all of the difficulties you have had to face. It sounds like you are off the steroids though, so that should make it easier to lose weight. You can still lose weight without exercise as long as you eat the MFP recommended amount of calories. At the same time, however, I have seen people in wheelchairs who work out their upper bodies. So you may want to consider that. As for healthy foods, you can eat whatever you like as long as you are within your calorie goals. Some people find they are more satiated if they eat more protein/fiber though and digesting those takes a little bit extra energy too. I’d recommend first logging everything you eat and taking a week or so to adjust what you are eating to get within your goals. Then once you have locked that down, try nailing your protein then fiber goals. Once you make this a habit, the deficit will add up over time and before you know it you will be at your goal weight.1

Good advice already.
I suggest adding some absorbing hobbies to fill your day to replace the snacking habit.1 -
Just wanted to say Hi, you've had good advice already.
I'm disabled also, with various health conditions, in a wheelchair and unable to work out in the conventional sense. So I understand and appreciate your difficulties. You have used MFP before and coming back is a great decision. I was determined that I would gain control of my weight, as it would help my health, make me feel better about my self and I knew it was one thing about my health that I could change.
But finding and then using MFP has turned my weight around and made a difference to my health. The good news is that you can lose weight through dieting alone, I have. It's not been easy or quick, but perseverance and determination, to at least make my lifestyle as healthy as I can, has paid off.
My advice would be to begin by putting your statistics into mfp and set as sedentary. Chose an appropriate weight loss target, it will then give you a daily calorie target to aim for.
Reading through the posts here have also helped. It's important to remember weight loss is not linear. Hopefully my story will help inspire you.
I first used MFP about 3.5 years ago, for a few months. Lost some weight, but I allowed live and my health difficulties to get in the way and stopped logging. I tried dieting on my own and never made any more progress, but managed to maintain this lower weight for 18 months. But in April 2016, I restarted on mfp; using it properly this time and it's changed my weight and improved my health/blood test results etc. As I've excepted a slow loss in exchange for eating a well balanced diet, with a small deficit as I can't exercise. I've currently logged accurately, everyday for 640 days and have lost a total of 43.5lbs in 45 months. I am now at a healthy weight for my height, improved blood tests results for Cholesterol and no longer pre diabetic. I still have my health conditions but less weight has made a difference in my day to day life.
If you like message me and I will add you as a friend, for support on MFP, if you think it will help.5
