Does Fitbit Record Stairmaster Correctly?

When I record my stairmaster workout, the burned calories my fitbit says is significantly lower than the the machine. I’m on there for about 20 min, fitbit usually says btwn 95-125 but machine is usually in the 200 range. I feel like I’m burning way more than 125....which one is right?

No. Use the number from the machine. The fitbit only gets walking and running right.

Yeah, I'd definitely say not because it's not getting the tension part of the work out so it may be recording the steps (and even then, if you aren't taking your foot off the tread it might not), but won't be recording the effort level. Plus, as you aren't going up in altitude, it isn't counting it as flights of stairs.

I'm going to say no. You'd be better off following what the machine says. When I do spin and the bike says 15 miles my fit bit only says five or six.
