1500 calories

Hi, I've been targeting to lose 1kg a week and MyFitnessPal suggested 1500 calories a day as a target.
I have a couple questions which I wish can be answered.
1. As I've lost around 5kg of water weight, will I still be able to lost belly fat of 1kg a week?
2. Since I exercise and have a couple hundreds of extra calories left, is it ok if I snack a couple of foods just so I just met the 1500 calories target?
3. Do I have to or am I supposed to exercise while targeting the 1500 calories?

If you are in a deficit, you will lose fat weight. As a guy though 1500 is the absolute minimum you should be eating and if 1500 is the number it's giving you that's the minimum you should be eating. Exercise is good for maintaining muscle mass, so definitely do that and eat a portion of your exercise calories back.
Also consider that 1kg/2lb a week may be too aggressive for you, and 1lb/week may work out better.7 -

Ah, I see. I just went over by 500 calories and I'm going to exercise later on.0 -
At a guess I'd say 1kg a week is too aggressive. If you've put that as your goal and mfp has given you a target of 1500 I assume you're close to a healthy weight already.
Giving more information will allow other users to give more informed contributions. What are your height, current weight and goal weight. Also why have you set 1kg a week, do you have a target date to have lost the weight by?3 -

? If youre overweight, you obviously like your food, cutting calories is depriving you of that pleasure, theres no two ways about it. Once you reach your goal, if you want to maintain your new weight you're going to have to eat fewer calories than you did before, forever.
So why would anyone want to prolong the deprivation even longer.7 -

My height is around 175 cm and my goal weight is around 70kg. I have a target date to set by because my prom is coming up soon around May and June.

Ah, I see. Thanks for your reply. I don't mind dating fewing calories than I did before though. Even though it means forever.0 -

Apologies that I didn't state that. I'm 17. Turning 18 in 2 days.0 -
You're too young for this site but at 17 you are still growing so you need more calories. (men can grow up to age 21, I know my son still grew until then)1

You could probably do more calories. As previous poster said you're still growing. My husband grew an inch when he was 21. Start higher maybe even 2000 calories and see how that goes for a few weeks.1

At age 17, I'd recommend increasing your activity levels before I recommended cutting back on calories or foods in general. By being more active, you'll increase your total daily energy expenditure, which at the same eating levels will still result in an improvement in the calories in:out ratio.1

Don't expect to lose fat exclusively from your belly - fat comes off your body in an unpredictable way, but overall pretty much evenly distributed across your entire body. No such thing as targeted fat reduction short of liposuction.
I wish - trying to expose more of my abs before I go south on vacation!
