Anyone live with a workaholic?
Just wondering and if it lasted long? Im just really frustrated.I am trying hard to diet and exercise and be on a schedule . I cant work do to some health issues(But I do volunteer) and IM tryin to be more sociable and figure out what God has planned for me.In the meantime all I seem to do is clean and cook and take care of the animals or a friends baby-The baby and animals I dont mind,Ijust feel like Im talked to like an employee and not a partner and I dont see my partner.Either shes working in another county, state,or on her computer at home.Or watching shows on tv about the work she does.I dont know what to do.I know things could be a lot worse, but Im so lonely I could cry.She had to borrow my care the day I need to go to the store and her truck is all hooked to a huge trailer and so now,Im gonna have to walk somewhere to just eat lol *SORRY FOR THE VENT BUT IF I DONT THEN IM GONNA BLOW A FUSE*

It's ok .. venting instead of emotional eating is always best.. We're here for you.
BTW, .. why not eat something at home.. it'll probably healthier for you and cooking is like gardening.. It's therapy but I always have to remember to think first about what i'll prepare and eat slowly.
I hope you'll talk to your partner and straighten things out. Maybe just talking would help.
Have a better weekend.0 -
I had a roommate like that one time. Drove me crazy. Ever time I would walk in he door, the big jerk would be there on MY couch running up the dang pay-per-view bill.0

I'm sorry to hear you feel lonely. I would suggest talking to your partner about the way you feel. Being a workaholic myself, I know it's a personality trait that is tough to change. But a reminder to slow down and share quality time is all that it takes sometimes. Good luck!0 -
Can you both take a day or two for a day trip or do something relaxing? My husband and I have been together almost 10 years and throughout that time we have had issues like this, and the only way that we solved it was by taking time out of our schedules to reconnect. We had to really make an effort to listen and communicate with each other - it's harder than it seems it should be sometimes. Make sure you let her know how you feel, but use all the tricks therapists give (lol, yes, speaking from experience): say "I feel..." instead of "You always..." so that she doesn't get defensive. hopefully you both work it out soon!0

Thanks guys. The reason I had to walk which was good for my exercise anyways was because I need to go to the store.I had planned going today, but she borrowed my car because she didnt want to take her truck which is loaded down and a trailer on it loaded down.I think it is a communication thing also. She keeps promising we are going to VA for a vacation after this weekend but we will see she makes and breaks promises sometimes. She cant seem to get away from her phone, laptop,or tv.I wanna go somewhere where we are not on any electronics or run into someone she knows. She is always running into people and Im just left alone as usual.Funny she left for the night to see her parents and do a work thing and I have to stay here. She called to ask if I miss her and I am still angry lol and said no.You just left and your never here lol I dont get her.Maybe something is really wrong with me?0

i too am married to a workaholic...when I need to spend some time with him, I load the dog (mini pin) in the car and we drive to where he is at...and he is always happy to see us. I think our mini pin misses him as much as I do...she screams when we get close to his work building. Having this little dog helps fill the void, she keeps me busy and is a good listener. She tilts her head a lot so I know she's listening.0
