ok..so i got up yesterday and went to work feeling super tired...i run on my lunch break so as it got closer and closer i was counting down the mins until i had to go to the gym--i just wasn't feeling it... i dragged myself there and did my time on the treadmill... i was sitting in the locker room all sweaty and feeling great and realized this " i have never ever felt BAD when i leave the gym! I've never thought 'man i wish i hadn't gone to the gym today' " so from now on, when i'm not feeling it- im just gonna keep that in mind- i always feel better after a workout!!

That is so true! I could be exhausted and ready to drop, but I never regret going! Who would have thought, right?

when i finish a good workout, even a bad one, i feel like nothing can stop me. so nowadays, if i'm feeling particularly frustrated or hopeless, i go workout again. whatever i was fretting about just disappears from my mind. natural endorphis are the best thing ever

Totally agree. I have never felt bad about a workout and I really feel empowered when I make myself go!

I dunno...I felt really bad yesterday. I was glad to leave the gym. I pushed myself too hard during my workout, almost puked. I didn't start feeling "right" for a few hours. Today I'm sore, but feeling great.

It's probably the one thing that I really look forward to doing everyday. I feel awful if I don't go; it's truly become a drug.

I always ask myself, tomorrow will I regret that I didn't go, or regret that I did go? If I'm feeling bad enough that I know I won't regret it then it's okay to skip a workout when you're REALLY not feeling good.

    I always remember this quote:

    Excersice makes endorphines.
    Endorphines make you happy!
Happy people don't shoot their husbands...They just don't!

When my husband heard that, he said he would always support my working out! hahaha

I always feel great after a workout! You are so right! Never regret it! And after having a good, healthy meal too! Yesterday was my rest day, so no gym. But we went to chinese with some friends, and instead of calorie loaded orange chicken and fried rice (which I love!) I got beef broccoli and steamed rice. Ate only half and drank 4 glasses of water! I was elated afterwards. I couldn't believe how good of a mood it put me in to know that I had just stayed strong and totally enjoyed myself!!!

That's so true! Especially if I've not been feeling it, then I feel great for making it to the gym and doing my workout.

Mostly it's true. But if you do a brutal session of squats and deadlifts where you feel like throwing up after each set, it can take the starch out of you for awhile. But for most workouts, including all aerobic workouts, I always feel better afterward.

I get the same feeling. I work out in the mornings and some days i really just want to sleep in. But after i'm done with my run i feel awesome and look forward to next time.

Sometimes you have a bad day. You're not happy with your energy levels, with your lifts, with the effort you put in...

Just shrug it off and try again tomorrow!

Even if I don't leave the gym feeling better than I did when I got there, at least I feel better than I did *while* I was working out. Because there's some days when I feel like I only run because it feel so good when I stop.
  • thats a VERY good point and im going to have to agree all the way! :)

With my kiddos home for the summer I am limited to an hour and a half at the gym. Some (most) days I want to do more! Not quite a "bad" feeling, but once I start really working up a sweat I wanna keep going! For me working out is like crack...I NEED it to get me through the day. If I have to miss a workout I just don't feel right.

I lay there... "ugh I'm so tired...I should get up... I'm so sleepy... I should get up" this goes on for 30 minutes! Then 2 things an happen.

    1. Get up and feel awake the rest of the day. Add the extra calories into my day (dessert tonight!) or
    2. Lay there another 30 minutes wide awake still debating til it's too late to walk and feel "guilty" ALL DAY knowing I should have just got up and walked! And now... No dessert

I tried to go running today and my legs just HURT. So I walked part of my path and went to the gym to stretch and use the roller on my calves. Even though I hurt. Even though I didn't get to do what I wanted to do. I am still proud of what I accomplished today. Exercise not only helps to burn the calories and make you fitter, it makes your mind fitter and you feel more powerful. Kick some "A", girl! You can do it!
