Yummmm!! I used rice milk and used honey, it was FANTASTIC. In my opinion, it taste even better than ice cream. However....

    • I couldn't put it in a bag because it keps spilling from it mid-shake (and YES, I DID close it right). I used a container instead and sealed it with a bunch of rubber bands for saftey.
    • I had to use two big ziplock bags, because the salt water kept coming out of small holes in the first bag.
    • The first time I did it for four minutes, it didn't freeze all the way, but after another eight it was fine.

But overall, this was a great idea.

Oh my goodness!!!!! I just tried this and it was fantastic! I also used unsweetened almond milk, but I added a scoop of chocolate protein powder, some instant coffee, and a bit of splenda. I lost some patience, so it came out not quite as thick as ice cream, more like a really thick frappuccino, which was still really good! It came out to 180 calories, 6 grams of fat, and 27 grams of protein. Maybe a little high in fat, but I'm almost always under on my fat, so no biggie. Next time I think I'll try 1.25 -1.5 scoops of protein to make it a bit more chocolate-y. Definitely worth trying!!!!!

After you make a serving, do you think the ice/salt will hold up well enough to freeze another serving? I think if I put two cups of almond milk in the bag it will take too long to shake. Or will I have to start from scratch with new ice and salt?

I tried this idea today but not with almond milk. I wanted something a bit more rich with more protein.

    Blended together the following ingredients:
1/2 cup Fage 0% plain yogurt
    2 tbsp PB2
    1/2 banana
    1/4 cup sugar-free syrup
    dash of vanilla
    dash of cinnamon
... shook in the ice bag per OP's instructions... Voila! Frozen Yogurt!!!

I'm going to bump this so I can try this a little later. I love ice cream. It is my weakness for sure. Right now I have some coconut milk. I hope it is still good, because I sure want to try it.
