Question about food database

Options
I was searching for omelets and found many. I have a ? about the ones that say "homemade". How does a person know what is in the omelet? I don't see anything that tells how many eggs, veggies, meats.....etc. Maybe I am reading it wrong?

If you made it yourself, log the ingredients. Searching the end result in the database is unreliable, as you don't know what's in there. You should really only pick entries like that if you went out and had an omelette and didn't know how many cals it was, or what was in it.

Only the person that created the entry knows what went into that omelette. Best bet is to use the recipe builder function in MFP and enter in the ingredients you used. This way it is accurate to what you ate. The database is great for standard items, produce, meats, prepackaged branded items (i.e. cereal/crackers etc).

If I make something like that, I deconstruct my meal.

    How many eggs?
    Cheese?
    Meat?
    Veggies?

etc, find separate entries for each thing.

Enter your own recipe/ingredients into the recipe builder, that way you can be sure of the calories and it'll be there for the next time you make one.
