80 Day Obsession Question

Hello! I did the first workout of 80 Day Obsession today and liked most of it. I know I need to do it so I am really going to try to push myself each day.

The one problem I am going to see with this program is getting my 10,000 steps each day. With the workouts being 60 minutes most days...I am going to need to do some additional cardio (walk/run, etc) to get my steps in and that is going to be alot of time for exercise.

Anyone else concerned with a step goal?

Is the 10,000 step goal part of the 80 Day Obsession or is it your personal goal?

If it's a personal goal based on the common recommendation, know it's an arbitrary number and people who are getting their activity in other ways (as it appears you are) can feel free to ignore it. If I was swimming regularly, for example, I wouldn't worry about missing steps because of it -- I would know that I was getting my activity in other ways.

Thanks for the response. The 10,000 step goal has been my personal goal since I got my Fitbit. I do understand that the exercise is more important.

My personal take: if I was doing an exercise/training plan that reduced my number of steps, I would just disregard my step goal for the time that I was doing the plan (unless I really enjoyed the activity that I added to meet the step goal and chose to keep doing it).
