Well, I'm off to the county fair! Yep, you know what that means....FAIR FOOD!!!! Yummy! Even better, I'm going by myself and no one can be the food police! Sooo.. I decided to make a game of pretending I'm a food reporter on a mission to find the healthiest food to eat at the fair. I've given myself a calorie budget of 600 calories.
I will report back....

  • Good luck. Fair food can be really challenging. I spent a week at our county fair last month. My downfall was the lemonade (delicious but I'm sure loaded with sugar).

    RESULTS:
    Grilled corn on the cob, with 1 tsp. Butter and chili con limon. 146 calories
    Fresh fruit: strawberries,grapes, blueberries, blackberries. 2 cups, 120 calories
    Char-grilled chicken shiskabob, with onions and tomatoes 4 oz chicken: 189 calories
    6 oz. Gold medal winning Merlot:150 calories

    Grand total: 605!!!!!

    I can't believe I almost stayed within my budget!

    I am nice and full and satisfied too!

    Well done! And what a good idea to challenge yourself. It keeps your mind focused on the goal.

    I have been running my county 4-H fair for 2 days now - done after tomorrow - cant wait! Good luck!!
