I feel guilty

So yesterday was my birthday. Earlier in the week my one SO took a an hour ride to the GF bakery we love to get me a birthday cake. I know it was not cheap and it was a long ride. Why do I feel guilty? I didn't like how it tasted
, the frosting was just blaugh to me . I didn't want to hurt their feelings though so I lied and said it was great. Hopefully no one notices I'm not eating the cake left overs.
Sorry, had to get that off my chest but couldn't say it to anyone in our house.
On the plus side, they also picked up cupcakes from the same bakery. Now those are freaking awesome and I will eat those.

If you don't want to eat the cake then hide bits of it inside the rubbish each day and people will assume you've eaten it.6

Happy belated birthday! Don't waste your calories on non-delicious cake. Maybe you can say you already had a cupcake and can't fit more cake in your calorie allowance, and then they'll eat all the cake??? Good luck.3

I had this sort of thing with a christmas cake my flatmate's mum baked, it was ok but a bit dry and I am not a huge fan of fruit cake, so I had one obligatory piece on Christmas Day (this thing was massive) and took the rest in to work, they are none the wiser and not offended and it didn't go to waste.1

It was noticed that I wasn't eating it. I think there was chocolate lacquer in the frosting which is what was turning me off to it. I got asked about it last night by my male SO and fessed up it wasn't my favorite. He came home this morning with Reese's cups to "make up for it". I was touched by the gesture but wanted to throw them at him and say "no! I didn't plan for those today!!!" Instead I ate one and have one in the fridge for after dinner.4

I rarely like cake so I feel your pain lol. I feel bad when co workers bake me cakes.. I take them home and let family members eat it.1
