The hubby and I are tired of our go to dinners and need some new dinners. I am home all day so it doesn't matter if they are quick and easy or take some time. I would love to know what you or your family eats during the week. We need more variety, please!!!!

I have a weekly rotation. M: soup or casserole. T: white meat. W: leftovers from Monday. T: fish. F: anything. S: pizza, pancakes or cheese on toast. S: red meat. Most of my meals are simple, I combine a protein, starch and veg I think go well together. I eat different things from week to week, the setup is flexible and opens up for variety while keeping me in a good routine and structure. Some of my favorite dinner foods are chicken thighs and wings, pork chops, pulled pork, roast beef, ground beef, lamb chops, salmon, trout, mackerel, herring, potatoes, rice, pasta, sweet potatoes, plantains, wraps, bulgur, couscous, barley, corn, lentils, beans, canned tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, peas, green beans, asparagus, artichoke, parsnips, spinach, olives, peppers.2

Our go to meals during winter months:
-Chicken Paprikash w/egg noodles
-Chili - so many varieties! My fave is white chicken chili
-Spaghetti squash with turkey sausage and greens
-Fritattas
-Soups...all kinds! Current faves Cauliflower w/Smoked Gouda, Mushroom, Chicken veg w/wild rice
-Stews - Chicken, pork, beef...take your pick! All great!
Most of these can be made up in the slow cooker or on the table within an hour of me getting home from work.
Hope that helps0 -

My go to dinners are pretty boring! I have three kids who are picky eaters...don't like one pot meals, sauces ect...so usually it's grilled chicken or steak with some form of veggies. I try to mix up marinades and veggies and their cooking methods to make it less boring. I've come to terms with the fact that we will eat boring until they move out because there is no way I'm cooking more than one dinner haha!3

My go to meals are:
- Homemade burgers
- Stir fry and rice/ noodles
- Steak/fish and salad - w/ roasted potatoes if I have the calories
- Soups (in winter)
- Big salad with protein (in summer)
- Crock pot meal (such as a pot roast) and veges.
- Burritos- these tend to be higher in cals though so I have to be careful on burrito days!

I don't know that we really have a "go to"...we enjoy cooking and trying new things and have a pretty solid library of recipes on Pinterest between the two of us. Our menu is pretty varied and can also depend a lot on season. In the winter we do a lot of soups and stews and one pot or sheet pan meals, casseroles, etc. In the summer we grill a lot and food tends to be "lighter" for the hot weather...more big salads...grilled cod filets or shrimp, etc...
I guess one thing we make fairly regularly is this one pot tuscan fish thing...it's very quick and easy...good for mid week...0 -
Grilled chicken with sweet potato and a veg. Fish with rice and a veg. Stir fry. Tacos. Spaghetti. Chili. Tortilla soup. Turkey burgers. Burrito bowls. Pita pizzas. Breakfast for dinner is always nice too.0

Lightly dusted haddock fillets, with a side of sauteed kale. Dollop of Light mayo on side. Filling. All less than 500 cals0

Wholewheat veggie tortilla pizza. Also asparagus, fine bean, pea and broccoli pasta0

My "go to" meal for dinner is very simple.
A grilled NY steak (pork loin or lamb chop) or a pan fried chicken leg (or salmon or other fish filet) w/a microwave steamed veggie (like zucchinni, brussel sprouts, green beans or corn) and some fresh fruit (like an orange, apple, pear or banana).
Just takes a few mins to prepare w/what's on hand. Just have to remember to defrost the meat/fish b4 hand.
I no longer automatically eat dinner w/starches like rice or potatoes, which reduces cals and prep time.
