What keeps you motivated to eat right and exercise/workout

Motivation is a fleeting emotion. Make eating right and working out a habit that you cannot refuse.
You wouldn't not go to a meeting scheduled with your boss would you? Make these appointments as important as those and that will help.
Automate anything that you can. I meal prep so that I only have to decide to eat right once a week, then it is all set up for me and if I were to eat something else I would be throwing away money and food to make an unhealthy choice. Pack your gym bag and put it in your car, go straight there from work so you can't decide to skip it by getting comfy at home!
Good luck, you can do it! Feel free to add me if you want3 -

Nobody is motivated all of the time...it's an emotion, and one that won't get you very far. We all do things on a daily basis that we aren't necessarily motivated to do...but they need doing, so we do them. I don't think I've ever been motivated to clean the house...but I do it because it needs doing unless I want to live in a *kitten* hole. Your body is your house...take care of your house.
Beyond that, I think people tend towards an all or nothing mentality, which isn't remotely realistic. My diet overall is pretty healthy...but it's not on point 100% of the time either...like last night we were exhausted from hosting my wife's parents over the long weekend, so we just ordered pizza for dinner...not the most nutritious choice, but in the context of my diet on the whole, pretty irrelevant.
Also, I think people tend to have a very myopic view of "healthy eating" which tends towards bland and boring and endless salads, etc...healthy can be delicious as well as nutritious. There's not a whole lot of motivation necessary to eat delicious food that is also healthy...'cuz it's delicious.
Similar with exercise...I think people tend to think they need to be doing all kinds of crazy stuff for multiple hours per day or that they have to be droning away on some piece of cardio equipment for hours for it to be "exercise".
Find something you enjoy doing...personally, my primary cardio is riding my bike...it's as much recreation and hobby as it is exercise. Training for an event can get a little intense, but generally speaking, just going out and riding my bike for fitness is a lot of fun and it's a great way to see my city from a different perspective. I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, a little golf here and there, and swimming in the summer. You will very rarely find me on some piece of cardio equipment in the gym and I've never danced around my living room to some workout DVD.0 -

Motivation is fleeting. Discipline gets you where you want to go.
I totally agree with the other posters regarding planning and doing exercise/eating food you enjoy.
Make you a priority and take the time to find food that meets your satisfaction, calorie and nutrition needs and do exercise that you enjoy. Then you don't need motivation anymore. You'll want to eat good food and do fun things - it just happens that those are habits that also keep you fit and healthy.1 -
My blood glucose meter keeps me motivated. If I eat even a single too-carby meal, or skip a day working out, I see the results immediately.0
