3 weeks into January and not 1 lb dropped?

I am wondering if anyone else is like this or am I an oddball. Before someone says I'm not tracking correctly I've been down this road before, lost 60lbs previously and kept it off so know how to track. This is more about my body not getting the memo of needing to drop weight. During my first weight loss I also started in January and never lost as much as 1lbs until the first week of Feb when I dropped 12lbs in 1 week and it was a pretty constant 2lbs of each week after that until I hit my target.
The same seems to be happening this time, 1500 cals per day max, not as much as 1lbs dropped. Why would this be? If my body acts like this its easy to see why I gave up on so many diet attempts over the years. I gained 6lbs over Christmas that still hasn't dropped either.

Have you been having your high calorie weekends?0

It takes time to see the results. If you also just started working out you will retain extra water which can mask a loss.
I haven’t lost anything in January either. I switched from recomp to loss mode this month after deciding I want to cut 10-15 more lbs. I know my body though. I always retain extra water when I adjust intake for a week or two. I don’t know why just that it happens. It sounds like you know from past experience that if you keep going you’ll lose accordingly too.1 -
Yes, water weight is strange. It will happen eventually, maybe take a cheat day (but don't overdo it) to let your body know it can ease up on the cortisol production so that the water retention will ease up?1

Had one binge last weekend as it was my sons Birthday party, however, I also had that to contend with 2 years ago during my initial weight loss.0 -
Are you positive your tracking is accurate?1

How big a binge? I can wipe a 2 week deficit with a decent binge. And it's no good comparing to last time, it will just drive you nuts.2 -

About 4 slices of pizza and 5 bud light and a scoop of ice cream0 -
Its early days yet but 3 weeks should have seen you lose something. You sound sure about your calorie intake so could there be something else going on? sometimes lack or sleep/stress/depression means we don't lose.
Your 'binge' wasn't really much of a binge at all and wouldn't have wiped out your weeks deficit. Give it another few weeks and see what happens, maybe next week you'll get a whoosh2 -
Are you weighing yourself on the same scales as before or different ones? Have you tried weighing yourself on different scales? Are you weighing yourself in the same clothes (or naked) each time you weigh yourself?
If you're not doing anything different than before, you're tracking and you're doing everything right, just wait till February to weigh yourself again and see if you've lost weight like last time. If you do see the weight go down then great carry on, if not there's something you're not doing right. Maybe open your diary so we can see your food tracking etc. At least you know from last time the weight eventually fell and a substantial amount.1 -
