Let me first start out by saying this....If I can do this, anyone can! (barring any medical conditions you may have that would prevent weight loss).
It took me until my youngest was 11 months old to realize that I am not still fat because I had a baby! I am fat, because I choose to eat unhealthy foods and not exercise. Once I got that through my thick head, it was game on!
March 13th 2011, I started a new life journey. I was 246.2 pounds on a 5ft 9 inch frame. (not a beautiful sight). I was unsure of myself and this weight loss thing, because I've falied many times in the past, and that was before the demands of 3 little boys!
So I put on my big girl panties...(yup, literally) and did a complete overhaul of my diet and started that dreadful thing called exercise.
A friend of mine had joined MFP months eariler and had great results. So instead of going to weight watchers, or other such type of weight loss I came here.
I am SOO thankful I did!! MFP has been a WONDERFUL and POSITIVE experience in my life. I've met some fantastic, supportive, upbeat and beautiful people along the way! I wouldn't be where I am today w/o my MFP family, and at home support.
Now this is what I DID do:
I workout (when aloud, right now I can't due to back problems) 6x a week for between 40-60 mins each day. NO excuses!!! I got it in where I could, nap time, after the kids went to be for the night. Like breathing, working out has to become part of your daily routine.
I completely overhauled my foods.......I went from twinkies and potato chips to broccoli and carrots. Now some will say..."well I can't do that"...then do it gradually!
I went from drinking almost no water to 5 cups a day to 12+ a day...overnight?? Of course not, that for me was the hardest thing to do.
I stay within my calorie allowance EVERY day! I know Im, boring and stuffy....no cheat days!?? NOPE..and here is why: I see ZERO reason to wreck an entire week with 1 day of really bad eating. If I can't work it in, then I don't eat it...plain and simple.
Being that everyone is different, I don't expect ANYONE to follow exactly what I do/did. Im an all or nothing gal, so how I went about it may not work for you, and thats fine. You have to find what works for YOU!
YOU are in control of your life!
I have made this a lifestyle change, NOT a diet plan!
Now as Im not very computer savy...my pics are on my profile....the far left is me today(162.1), the next pic was me at my heaviest ever (283ish) and the 3rd pic was me around when I started MFP (246ish).

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's fantastic!!
You're such a big inspiration for others on this site! Thanks for sharing your story with us x0 -
Very well done - you must be feeling so proud of yourself And great to see you set down how you did it, in black and white (so to speak) for everyone to see. Loosing weight takes commitment and change but it CAN be done if you really set your mind to it and want to achieve your goal. I bet you need to go out and buy yourself a whole new wardrobe of clothes now! Great excuse to go shopping!

Not to bash Biggest Loser....But we on MFP are doing the weight loss in a LIFE setting....BL...isn't reality until they go home for good. Which if you've noticed, a lot of them gain some back. Id MUCH rather do it this way!0 -
