You could figure that out, and do that, or you could log your food intake and aim to hit your calorie target. That is both easier and much more effective for weightloss.

You aren't going to get a good ketone count in the morning. Most people have a poor showing due to something called the Dawn Phenomenon. The liver gets active in prep for waking and dumps some glucose. You'd get a better reading in the afternoon (based on what I've read here and there. I was keto for 1.5 years for weight loss and I never tested my ketones once, so I have no experience with that.)

The best breakfast for ketosis IMO is high fat, moderate protein, and low-carb. Bacon or sausage and a cheese and spinach omelet?

Ketone counts really only matter for a medical/therapeutic keto diet. Ketosis doesn't guarantee weight loss. Calorie deficit does. If you are on med keto, then I can probably help you search for more detailed info. If it's just for weight loss, it doesn't really matter. "In ketosis" is all that matters for non-medical keto, in that there's the line that usually offer the most blood glucose control and appetite suppression. You're pretty much guaranteed that under 50g total carbs, period. There's no keto-trophy for higher concentrations of ketones.

    HTH.

If you want to continue in ketosis thru breakfast, go with the classic bulletproof coffee or just coffee with a good splash of cream. An egg or two with butter and cheese will be high fat and mod protein to keep insulin levels about baseline or a nice coconut milk shake with about 10g protein powder and your choice of noncarb flavoring should work. To echo the previous post, don't stress about your levels. Just keep your macros in line and you should be good!
