7lb water weight in a week?!?

I started to try and lose weight again on Friday 12th January at 247lbs, I weighed myself today (20th Jan) and I'm now 240lbs.

Can all of that really be water weight? Because I'm sure as hell I can't have lost 7lb of fat in a week...!

(p.s I've been eating around 1400 calories per day and I don't cut out ANY food groups i.e. I'm still eating carbs )

Also I'm female, 29 years old and TMI I haven't been on my period during this time.

Thoughts??

1-2 lbs could be fat and the rest is likely water/glycogen. Its normal.

Stick with it and let time be your ally for your goals!

Yep, 6lbs in my first week here. Weight loss is a very up-and-down sort of process, so settle in and be prepared for that! :)

Some is fat. Some is water. All of it is less weight on your joints whether it is fat or water. Good job.
