So I've been on a diet of 1200 calories for about half a year now and I've lost around 1 stone. Recently I've been feeling a lot more hungry .. should I increase my calories and see what happens? ..I don't want to undo my progress. I'm 5'6 F 10 st 5lbs . Thanks in advance :)

145lbs is already well into a healthy range for your height. What number does MFP give you (if it's giving you 1200cal, it may be because you're trying for too aggressive a deficit).

With a BMI of just over 23 at 145lbs, if you are wanting to continue losing, change your rate of loss to .5lbs a week and eat back your exercise calories, if your not already.

Now is the time to start planning for maintenance.

Yes I just checked 1200 is for 2lbs per week at lightly active.

Usually wouldn't eat back exercise calories. Thanks for input.

Are you weighing your food with scales?

You don't have enough weight to lose to have that kind of an aggressive deficit. 0.5 or 1lb a week would be better.

    Let me rephrase
Yep, I try to weigh *all (most) of what I eat.

Everything that I can weigh is weighed, then when I'm eating out I try find the equivalent on mfp

Do you exercise? Cause your daily calorie intake is very low I hope you are getting all the nutrition you need .

Since you're trying to lose vanity weight it's going to be slow going and you're going to have to be very tight with your logging.

If you lost 14 lbs in roughly 6 months you were losing just slightly over 2 lb per month or 1/2 lb per week or about a 250 - 300 calorie deficit per day. That's just about perfect for your stats.

You don't have enough calories to run a 1000 calorie daily deficit (2 lbs/wk) and MFP won't let you use this tool to try and do that. It bottoms out at 1200 calories for females even though that's no where near 1000 deficit for you.

I'd keep doing what you're doing and continue at the rate you've been losing. Or conversely, you could get some more calories from exercise and be able to eat a bit more.

You might not believe it, but you're doing an absolutely excellent job and are setting yourself up to be quite successful maintaining your goal weight once you get there. Don't lose sight of the real goal which is to STAY at your goal weight for the long term.

    Nice Job!!!

I used to exercise nearly everyday at the beginning. Started to get more tired and busy so now it's at least 3 days a week.

You're so welcome. It seems like I read about so many unrealistic or even dangerous weight loss practices (in spite of the fact that tons of people on here try to help people do it right). It's so exciting to read about someone like you being wise and thinking long term.

How much do you excercise? Have you increased your general activity level throughout the day? If so thou may need to bump up the activity setting which will allow you to eat more.

The other thing you need to do is scrutinize your food diary to check for mistakes in logging or if there is any food choices or macro trend that could be better for satiety.

Usually get 10,500-11,000 steps a day. When I exercise I try do 40 min HIIT or resistance training. I will have a look for some possibly better food options. Thanks for the input :)
