Can you safely freeze pastrami?

I've got a packet of Sainsbury's pastrami that's not been opened which has a use by date of 7th August. No way I'm going to eat it today, seems like a waste to chuck it out. Can I freeze it?
It doesn't say you can on the packet but it also doesn't say you can't!

I'd say yes...its usually is "use by or freeze" date. Check out this website too. Its about shelf life and freeze life.

Thanks for the website address, just checked it out and they say 1-2 months so that's ok, it's in the freezer now0
