Don't set to low of calorie allowance. If you are feeling deprived and hungry all the time you won't be able or to stick to it to long. Be realistic, you don't have to cut out anything, as long as you are not eating over your calorie limit. I for one can't eat nothing but healthy food and ever feel full. It's probably all psychological, but if I don't eat something that I enjoy I feel hungry indefinitely. Which makes me pretty unpleasant. I know people say protein and vegetables will keep your satiated longer, but I'm hungry about 10 minutes after eating a giant plate full of them. A bowl of macaroni and cheese with similar calories will make me feel full all afternoon. I'm going for healthIER, not instantly healthy. Don't feel like you can't have your favorite food. Just track them (accurately, with a food scale) and make sure you stay in your limit.

Don't waste time trying to stay motivated. To lose weight, you just need to eat less, and most likely, not even a lot less. You are motivated to lose weight. That isn't enough. You need to be motivated to eat less. That can be done, but you need a good plan and then some discipline to follow the plan. A good meal plan is made up with foods you like in appropriate amounts. You can eat what you want as long as you eat less. When you know that you have to eat less, but that you can eat what you want, you'll automatically become more selective.

Get information on what you need and where you can find it, but don't let anybody tell you what and how to eat and exercise.
