I'm having WLS in 2 weeks, gastric bypass. I'm hoping it will help me deal with the diabetes I've had for almost 20 years. I have been overweight since I was 10. I recently lost 35 pounds since I had to lose some weight before the surgery. It is a real fight to maintain this though. That is why I need the surgery, maintaining 200 pounds should not be so hard.

Good luck! I think that you'll find plenty of useful information and support here, particularly as you step into the next phase of your life after your surgery!0

I just joined today myself. My niece uses this site and has lost 45 lbs since last November. She looks great! My husband had gastric bypass 4 years ago -- it is a lifesaver for him. He was diabetic and on insulin -- very shortly post-surgery he no longer required insulin or any meds at all for the diabetes. He has maintained his weight loss and is currently 120 lbs. lighter than when he had his surgery. Best of luck to you -- I know you'll do well!0
