What's your calorie goal and what rate of loss did you pick?

Under-eating isn't healthy. It can lead to fatigue, being malnourished (hair loss, brittle nails, ect), and even lead you to binge eat.

If your deficit is too large (greater than what is needed to lose 1% bodyweight per week) than your body turns to it's lean mass as well as fat for fuel. This means along with fat your body will use connective tissue, muscles, organs, ect. Sure weight comes off faster, but it's not just fat and can cause serious health problems.

Now...if you mean only eating 2/3 of what MFP estimates you burn through exercise. That's fine. It's actually not a bad place to start.

Once in awhile a low day won't hurt, but doing it consistently everyday is not wise or healthy.

Depends .... how many calories are you meant to be eating to be loosing how much a week ?

If you have opted for 1lb a week to keep you sane and eating 2/3rds puts you in the 2lb a week category and you are not going below 1200cal then it’s fine

If you are intermittent fasting and only eat 500cal on 5:2 then it’s fine

If you eat under your goal during the week and in excess for the weekend it’s fine

If you are ill for a week, it’s fine

If however you are only eating 700cal a day, everyday ... then no it’s not, you are heading for long term issues

Depends. Have you set your goal correctly - loss, gain or maintenance, and at the correct rate? Are you logging food intake correctly? Is this just today, or does it happen often? Is this something you plan for, so that you eat more, but controlled, other days? Or does it lead you to massive overconsumption when you're too hungry to stand it anymore?

For one day, no. Continuously, yes. You should be coming as close to your goal as possible.

This! You don't have to meet your goal every day but you should be pretty close if you average it out over a week or so. But it's perfectly fine to have low days and high days to meet that average goal.

It's bad. It's so bad. It's the kind of thing that earns you a spanking. ... Oh, wait, this isn't that kind of thread?
