Help with calories in and BMR

Hello!

I’m hoping someone can help me with something I’m not sure about! I’ve been using an Apple Watch for a few months now, so I’m assuming that it’s data is reasonably accurate now... my resting energy (which I believe is my BMR?) is 1600 give or take 20 cals each day - then I get my active calories on top of that - the active cals can range anywhere from 500 - 800 depending on what I’ve been doing that day ( I have a dog so I do 1-2 hour hiking everyday as well as yoga and a few times a week I do some circuits with weights)

So my question is, how many calories should I aim to eat to lose 1lb a week. Do I aim to eat my resting calories 1600 and create a deficit with the active calories or do I need to eat more than my BMR? I’m assuming eating less than your BMR if you’re getting 500+ active cals is not healthy?

Thank you :)

1600-1900 depending on the day.(based off numbers you provided.

Why not sync Apple Health to MFP? It should be able to make the adjustments needed to your calories based on your activity each day.

Set MFP up to lose a pound a week. Eat the amount of calories given plus at least a portion of those calories that come over from Apple.

MFP tells me to eat 1200 which I know isn’t enough. When I had my watch/Apple health synced to mfp - mfp wasn’t giving me the same calories for my logged exercise and it was adding an extra 400 cals a day to the health app which made it too confusing to keep track so I un-synced them and now I log my exercise cals separately.
