Stuck on what to do

Hey,

I'm just kind of looking for some advice/guidance on my current situation. I've recently moved to a new location, I had to sell my barbell and weights, my power rack and also my bench as my new house simply doesn't have the space to accomodate it.

Now I'm still cutting, I'm 5'10 and 185lbs. I was originally 230lbs, my goal is 150 to 155lbs. My problem is that now I literally only have dumbbells,.I've used them for a week, I just don't get the same feel or intensity from the dumbbells. My olympic bar alone weighed more than the two dumbbells I'm currently using. I mainly focus on squats, deadlift, floor press(no bench) bent over rows and overhead press. I have mixed feelings as on one hand, I'm simply cutting, I'm led to believe it's near on impossible to gain muscle during a cut so maybe the fact I'm not lifting heavy anymore is irrelevant. On the other hand, I'm used to lifting relitavely heavy with an olympic barbell. I guess I'm asking, will lifting dumbbells affect my progress? My aim is to drop down to 12 to 15% body fat and then reassess my goals from that point. I'd obviously like abs if I did that, but as it is my first cut, I'm not expecting to look amazing. I hope somebody can offer some advice and perhaps show me examples of nice progress through just dumbbells.

Lifting weight can help maintain and minimize the loss of muscle during a cut. Maybe you need a few more dumbells to make a better set for you? With a good dumbell set, having enough weight, you can really do just about anything if its all you have. There are a lot of guides online for dumbell only workouts.

What about bands? You really can do a lot with them and you're in control of the resistance. You can even buy a little doodad that enables you to loop it over a door frame and do pull down type moves.

Is joining a gym not an option? My advice is "join a gym".
