I can't notice any weight-loss results on my body?

Hey everyone,

I started my MFP journey on Jan 8th, and the scale shows I've lost around 4-5 kg (10 lbs) in these 19 days. I started at 101-102 kg (223 lbs), now I'm at 96-97 (my scale is bipolar so...).

However, I feel nothing different about my body and I see nothing different, while comparing my photos. Is it possible that I've only lost water weight?

I know I shouldn't be discouraged and just binge eat everything, but it's hard since I can't notice any result on my body or that I feel better.

I’ve been working out faithfully for two weeks. I’ve never gone above 1200 calories a day. HUGE lifestyle change for me. I started at 198. Guess what? Today I weighed myself. I’m 199.6!! Talk about discouraging. Everyone says I need to hang on, make sure I keep reaching my calories, keep working out, it will come. I will but geez...

Weight loss is a slow progress. When I first started I didn't notice anything at all until a few months down the line.

Weight loss shouldn't be rushed. Yes it is discouraging but you will get there. It just takes some time. That's what makes it worth it.

I didn't really see a visible difference in photos until 15-20 lbs and several months. Just be patient and stick with it.
Some of your initial loss is water weight. That is normal. You are making progress.
Did you take body measurements? Do your clothes fit differently?

Sometimes we don't see differences for a while. But are you feeling different and good with your mood, energy and sleeping patterns? Maybe the internal differences are happening first then the external will follow :)

It can take 30 to 40 pounds for a weight loss to be visible, depending on where you're starting from. Just remember if you keep going the changes will get more and more noticeable, but it takes time, take a selfie once every couple of months and after six months compare the two. You don't see it in the mirror because you see yourself every day and you're not comparing three months ago to now ., you're comparing yesterday to today

Weight loss is different for everyone. I gained 10 pounds over the passed 2 months and didn't realize until I jumped on the scale. I always know when I have gained a bit of weight when my jeans are getting snug. Keep positive on your journey! Best of luck to you! And take pictures or even short videos to compare!

I was close to 30 pounds down before I noticed a difference. I wouldn't have noticed at all if it wasn't for taking pictures and measurements to compare. In fact, I look in the mirror now and I see the same me I seen before but I look at the pictures or the measuring tape and there is a major difference.

I never weigh I judge by my clothes. I have no idea how much I weigh or how much I have lost in the 6ish weeks I have been healthy eating but I do know my clothes feel so much better and I can visibly see a difference.
Try something on that was feeling a little snug and maybe you will see/feel the difference ☺

Yes, a lot of it will be water, but that's going to show up a bit too. As mentioned, you often don't notice it until much later in the process. Skin still has to tighten a bit and much of the initial weight might be in places that you just don't really notice it. Best thing is to take several measurements and also note firmness. You'll probably notice that as you lose your skin feels loser and not as firm as before. This might not appear visually for a bit longer but you'll eventually see it.

Hey hun. Ditch the scale. It immediately makes us feel like crap and wanna give up. Agreed with above, do measurements instead. Try fresh squeezed lemon water to rid of toxins and make veggies and greens the majority of your plate. Go buy a Tervis or Yet I and fill that sucker up with water 10 times a day!
