I have lost 140 lb by doing nothing more than eating better and getting outside. I do a lot of walking and hiking.

What do you have against diet drinks? Artificial sweeteners have been tested extensively over the past 25 years, and there is absolutely nothing harmful about them. (You'd have to eat literally 135 packets of diet sweetener a day to reach the upper safe limits determined by testing.) Researchers have even tested the claims that they somehow make you crave sweets more--also false. If having a diet soda or something makes you feel less like you're depriving yourself, I say have at it.

Happy for you to add me but I did have weight loss surgery otherwise I would have died. Having said that, my lap band no longer works so I'm doing it on my own now! I was 243kg (525lb) when I had lap band and now I'm 178kg (394lb). I owe my life to my lap band but I owe it to myself to keep doing it without it's help.
