Green checks

What do the green check marks mean next to some foods? I’m new to this.

Ostensibly, it means that the food is verified by MFP and can be trusted (unlike the unchecked ones which are user entered and can be missing information or just be flat out wrong).

However, a food gets a green check either by actually being verified by MFP or because the macros add up to the calories and enough users have confirmed its correct. This results in some green checked entries being wrong, or just absurd like the green checked entry for "Chinese Buffet - 1 plate" at 1000 calories.
